Family Safari – safari and beach, 14 days $4,375 per person.
Arusha Lodge, 1 night. You’ll be met off your flight into Kilimanjaro Airport by your guide and taken to your lodge set in its own grounds near the town of Arusha. There’s a swimming pool and space to explore with nearby attractions if you have time.
Tarangire National Park, 2 nights. After breakfast drive the fascinating journey to Tarangire; see great herds of elephants and other animals immediately on entering the park. After lunch, have a game drive in Tarangire and a further full day. The permanent camp here is very child-friendly with a good pool, tasty food and great views of wildlife from the camp itself.
Ngorongoro Crater, 2 nights. After a final game drive, continue up the Great Rift Valley, visit the village of Mto Wa Mbu to experience the local life and then climb the volcanic highlands to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and on to your permanent camp in a remote part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Have a full game drive on the Crater floor and then visit the local Masai communities adjacent to your camp.
Serengeti National Park, 2 nights. Drive out of the Highlands and down onto the Serengeti Plains, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, before game viewing all the way to your permanent camp. Full day of game viewing in the Serengeti.
Fly to Zanzibar, Stone Town, 1 night. After a final game drive in the magnificent Serengeti, fly by light scheduled aircraft from the Serengeti to the ‘Spice Island’ of Zanzibar, and to your hotel in the centre of Stone Town, a fascinating mix of Arab and African cultures.
Zanzibar Beach Lodge, for 5 nights. After a morning to explore Stone Town, possibly on an organised tour, in the afternoon be transferred across the island to your beach lodge. 5 days to relax, swim in the pools and the Indian Ocean, hire bikes, take boat trips for snorkelling or scuba diving or many other optional extras.
Day 14 In the afternoon you’ll be driven back to Zanzibar Airport for your international flights home.
